Welcome to the Life of

CAPT Curt Hess

77+ years. One Life. Nothing left out.

I'm Curt Hess — Born in Williamsport, home of Little League, and moved to Cape May at 7. There I was just a young lad hanging the streets of a little NJ shore town, playing some basketball & baseball, graduated LCMRHS during Vietnam Era. Became a Navy Mustang (enlisted & officer), then nuclear trained, computer and EE engineer, entrepreneur, federal civilian, father & husband, mini-crypto watcher/holder, AI enthusiast (since 1973), and currently a resident of Santa Fe at 7,250 feet. This site is my attempt to document a life that turned out to be more interesting than I planned, for the people I love and anyone else curious enough to read it.

Interested? Start with The Life if you want the chronological story — from Williamsport in 1948 to Cape May, in 1955 (LCMRHS ‘66) through the Navy Boot Camp in San Diego, to OCS Newport, Commissioning Crew USS Nimitz, Masters at Monterey, numerous CO jobs in Navy Reserve, then as Director of both Office of Naval Research & Naval Sea Systems Command Reserve Programs, and finally the joys of retirement. Or jump straight to What I Think if you'd rather argue with me about politics, religion, artificial intelligence, or why Bitcoin still makes sense as the future of international currency.

Family members: there's a private section just for you. Ask Curt for the password.

I've been keeping notes my whole life. This is what happens when you finally organize them.
