I’m planning on “Active” (SELRES) after a couple of years focused on my family and several small business. IRR means No regular meetings, drills, or uniform requirements, subject to recall for war.
Birth of Son — Tajivan (1986)
Tajivan arrived with a spark of creativity and athleticism that showed early. His skateboarding & creative artistry became a defining part of his identity from childhood onward. It will be about 10-years until I meet him via Tracey.
Office of Naval Research — TAC306 (1987–1989)

Promotion to Commander (1988–1993)
Commander (O‑5 - equiv to LTCOL) marked the ascent into senior leadership, signified by “scrambled eggs” on the cap. It reflected decades of dedication, technical mastery, and operational excellence. One of the prerequisites for command in USNR.
Birth of Son — Brahm‑Collin (1990)
Meeting Brahm‑Collin at age six was a profound moment. His warmth and connection with you helped shape a blended family that grew stronger over time.
Purchased 12504 Waterman (1991)
You purchased the Waterman property with hopes of a fresh start in Raleigh. Though you never lived there, it symbolized a period of transition and new intentions.
Naval Surface Warfare Center — Executive Officer (1991–1994)
As Executive Officer at NSWC Dahlgren, you led teams supporting critical Navy weapons systems. It was one of your most significant leadership roles, blending technical oversight with command responsibility.
Residence — Clifton, VA (1991–1993)

St. Lucia Vacation (1992)
A spontaneous trip to St. Lucia offered a break from the pressures of command. It was a memorable escape filled with a too hot sun, reflection, and a bit of chaos. Club Med ain’t that great!
Interpath Communications — Raleigh, NC (1994–1996)
Having sold my healthcare computer company, I accepted a position as Sales Engineer at Interpath Communications, as subsidiary of WRAL Raleigh. I was selling internet connectivity to businesses and hospitals.
ERA 4 Navy Reserve + Entrepreneur (1986–2000)
Residence — Emerald Isle, NC (1993)

Promotion to Captain (1993)
Your promotion to Captain (O‑6) was the culmination of decades of service. It marked your entry into the highest levels of Navy leadership and influence. I was honestly amazed at the level of respect and deference of this promotion.
Residence — Raleigh (Paces Forest) (1994–1996)
I decided it was time to live closer to my children, so I moved to Raleigh. Paces Forest was close to everything, especially Shelly Lake where I took walks almost every day.
ONR & PEO Tours — Arlington (1994–1998)
Commanding ONR S&T 406 and Command Officer NAVSEA PEO detachment placed me at the forefront of Navy research and technology as well as the implementation onto warships at NAVSEA. Great combo.
Marriage to Tracey Moe (1997)
Tracey and I met at Unity Church of the Triangle. We each had two children. This marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with partnership, adventure, and shared purpose. Her presence brought joy, balance, and renewed energy into my life.
Residence — Raleigh (Kittrell Drive) (1997–2000)
Tracey’s beautiful home on Kittrell Drive became the backdrop for early married life with Tracey. It was a period of building routines, blending families, and planning for the future.
Techsolv Inc. — Cary, NC (1996–1998)
Working for the NC Hospital Association contractor, I was Director of Sales for hospital internet services, and visited every county in NC - all 100 of them. Most hospitals claimed “The Internet is just a fad.”
Lockheed Martin-EPA Web (1998–1999)
Hospitals were not buying…so next step was working for Lockheed who had the contract to maintain the EPA’s web. We worked in RTP - Research Triangle Park where NCState’s Computer Science Department housed our systems. A bit of “Round Trip.” My first 40-hour work week since high school.
Mini‑Honeymoon — Western NC (1997)
A short getaway to the Biltmore and surrounding areas offered a peaceful celebration of your new marriage. It was a chance to relax, explore, and enjoy time together away from work.
Curt’s 50th Birthday (1998)
Tracey pulled off a surprise mountain getaway to celebrate my 50th birthday. It was a milestone moment filled with reflection, gratitude, and the joy of reaching a new decade.
