Inn History and Evolution
The inn opened its doors in the early 1990s, offering a secluded, Craftsman-style escape crafted from natural stone and cedar siding. Designed by WNC-based Altura Architects, it was specifically built to provide an intentional retreat from the world. To maintain a peaceful, disconnected atmosphere, the original rooms were constructed without in-room televisions or internet access. Instead, guests enjoyed wood-burning fireplaces, private balconies overlooking the valley, miles of hiking trails, and gourmet dining.
